Tether USDT is a cryptocurrency known as a stablecoin, which means that it is backed by a real currency, in the case of Tether, the backing is the US dollar. The idea is that each Tether USDT issued has an equivalent US dollar as collateral, this way, the value of Tether tends to remain close to one dollar.
